

It adds a lot of new mechanics for every character, regardless of whether you play as a pagan, christian etc. Legacy of Rome: I think this is one of the major ones you should pick up. Doesn't add anything if you don't plan on playing as a Muslim. Sword of Islam: This DLC allows you to play as one of the Muslim rulers and gives them traits/events/unique mechanics like you would find when playing Christian rulers. You're paying quite a lot to be able to start with a character that's gonna be dead in 50 years anyway. It allows you to control for example the traits and the stats you start with. The only thing it allows you is to create a custom character to start the game with. Ruler Designer: I don't own this DLC I would not get this one at the start. Without any of the DLC, I think you'd only be able to play as Christian rulers (which is plenty of fun either way). I'll try going over them to give you an idea of what they do but I don't have a few of these either so I can't really comment on all of them.
